We want to thank you and the other members the District staff who led the effort to ensure that the Board of Governors understood the benefits of adding waters within the Charlotte Harbor area to the District’s Surface Water Improvement & Management program.  As you know, the waters of the Charlotte Harbor area are some of the most significant waters in this region, and their protection is important to all the citizens of Southwest Florida .  Development and implementation of a SWIM management plan will help to ensure that Charlotte Harbor ’s natural resources are safeguarded so that future generations can enjoy the economic, social and aesthetic values that these waters provide. 

Your leadership and your ability to forge strong relationships with staff members, community leaders and the Board of Governors is very impressive, and we appreciate your efforts very much!
