Mr.
Bob Janes, Chairman Lee
Board of Dear
Mr. Janes, The
Southwest Florida Watershed Council respectfully requests that Organized during the past year, the Southwest Florida Watershed Council is a grass-roots, multi-county coalition of individuals, organizations, agencies and businesses that have come together to address the issues affecting the Caloosahatchee and Big Cypress watersheds. The purpose of the Watershed Council is to ensure that the interests and concerns of all stakeholders are addressed, and that long term management strategies balance the needs of this region’s growth and the natural systems upon which our economy and quality of life depend. As we work to improve coordination and promote integration among the various interests involved in the Caloosahatchee and Big Cypress watersheds, it is imperative that we reach out to all of the entities already focused on aspects of the watersheds. The Caloosahatchee River Citizen’s Association is a key player in the effort to study the river and its oxbows, and we wholeheartedly support its ongoing work, as well as that of Rae Ann Wessel, who is devoting much of her personal attention to this effort. If
you have any questions about the Southwest Florida Watershed Council, I invite
you to visit our web site at www.swfwc.org or call me at
941.590-7213. Thank you for your
consideration of this request. I
look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Noel
Andress Chairman, Board of Directors
